Lime Light Hydrangeas

Lime Light Hydrangeas was such a joy to paint—there’s something about bold shadows and bright citrus that just sings. I loved the contrast of the deep striped pattern underneath with the softness of the hydrangeas above—structured and spontaneous all at once. Those limes practically glow against the ivory plate, little green gems catching bits of reflected color from every direction. And the way the blossoms peek in from the side, it’s like they’re leaning in to say, Isn’t this a beautiful moment? I wanted this piece to feel fresh and modern, but still full of heart and warmth. It’s a playful reminder that light, color, and contrast can turn even a bowl of limes into a moment of magic.
