My journey to becoming a full-time artist wasn’t straightforward. I spent years as a corporate writer, working in bustling newsrooms and fast-paced magazine offices, all while secretly nurturing my love for painting. Despite a deep passion for color and creativity, I felt trapped in a world of deadlines and structure. Finally, I made the leap—leaving behind the grind to fully embrace my artistic calling. Stepping away felt like surfacing for fresh air after years of struggle—a decision fueled by faith in myself and my work.
My journey as a painter transformed the moment I taught my first class at the Dallas Arboretum. Witnessing students' eyes light up as they discovered their own artistic potential, I realized painting itself was only part of my true calling. Teaching others how to unlock their creativity and find joy through art became my greatest passion.
